Yves Beaulieu, Éric Duhaime’s candidate in Pointe-aux-Trembles, makes inappropriate remarks towards the outgoing Prime Minister.

The video was allegedly recorded about a year and a half ago. Yves Beaulieu was not yet a Conservative candidate at the time. The whole thing was filmed in a residence.

We see Mr. Beaulieu get up from his sofa and approach the television set as the Prime Minister speaks at a press conference on vaccination.

“Host of eat-mar**!” loose Yves Beaulieu on the images. “You sickened, chalice! Suck my ass”.

This video obtained Friday by TVA Nouvelles catches up with the candidate today.

The father, foreman and site superintendent, said he “lived segregation, and the lid of the pot jumped off”.

Reached on the phone in the morning, Yves Beaulieu did not deny his remarks or the existence of the video.

“I was sick of living like that, Mr. Poirier! Everyone makes gestures in life, in the moment. Do we have the right to be sick of what we’ve been through? Yes, we have the right to be exhausted! To be close to having a burnout, a depression because you are locked up in the house! We can’t go shopping, go to the movies. We cannot travel. We can’t go to the restaurant and it’s hard to see our families! explains the conservative candidate.

He added: “What do you want from me? That I drop the campaign?

Reaction

Friday in the middle of the afternoon, Cédric Lapointe, spokesman for Eric Duhaime, reacted by way of declaration.

“Mr. Beaulieu was not respectful towards François Legault during a difficult period. It does not represent the values and professionalism of the Conservative Party of Quebec. Although he was not a candidate at the time, I expect more restraint from him. I’m glad to see that he took the initiative to apologize on social media for the comments he made. It shows a progression in his ideas. Everyone has the right to make mistakes,” he wrote.
