One day, Erwan decided to radically change his life and gave up everything to devote himself to permaculture. This is what his new life looks like.
Erwan is 33 years old and seven years ago he decided to stop working to make a living from permaculture, a mode of agriculture based on the principles of sustainable development. Erwan’s decision was motivated by daily suffering while working in a big company as a fluid engineer. “I hurt myself on many points, psychologically, morally, health, everything, I had a stomach ulcer at some point, quite young“, he confides. From now on, Erwan puts his mental health as a priority.
By working in permaculture, Erwan no longer has a regular salary. “It’s the RSA that pays for my daily life, house charges, water, electricity, a cell phone anyway“, he explains. According to him, money creates needs for us: “Someone who lives with 1500 euros per month, today, he will create needs to spend his 1500 euros.” Erwan does not intend to live with the RSA all his life. He hopes to see his activity better recognized and thus to be more financially assisted for what he does on a daily basis.
