Section 636 of the Highway Safety Code allows police officers to make interceptions without cause to obtain information about individuals. This type of intervention can sometimes raise issues of racial profiling. However, it can save lives, according to Stéphane Wall, retired SPVM supervisor. The Duty team boarded their vehicle to better understand what can motivate certain traffic interceptions.
