Already adorned with gold over the distance in Tokyo, the 23-year-old cyclist confirmed his dominance in the discipline by retaining his Paralympic title on Friday.
Alexandre Léauté is adorned with gold again! The French para-cyclist has won the 3,000m individual pursuit final (category C2), Friday, August 30, at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines velodrome. The reigning Paralympic champion over the distance, and impressive during the qualifications, where he improved the world record (3’24″298), the athlete did not tremble in front of his home crowd. Crossing the finish line in 3’26″015, he beat the Belgian Ewoud Vromant by more than two seconds (3’28″062).
A nnew consecration for Alexandre Léauté, who wins his fifth Paralympic medal, his first in Paris. Already crowned, but far from being satisfied, he will be at the start of four other events in these Games, with, at stake, new hopes of a medal.
