Its missions: fight against waste, defend a more responsible way of consuming and support the social inclusion of its employees.

Place solidarity and employment at the heart of its project. This is the ambition of the Rejoué association founded by Claire Tournerier-Droual. In 2017, the global toy industry was worth more than 78 billion euros. Gargantuan consumption requiring enormous quantities of raw materials and fossil fuels for their manufacture and export. With her association, Claire Tournerier-Droual thus wants to give a second life to toys which generate nearly 75,000 tonnes of waste each year in France. “7 out of 10 toys are only used for 8 months “, she explains. “So they are still in very good condition for some and they can be used if you clean them, if you check them, they have a potential for reuse which is important. “ Here, all the toys are cleaned with ecological products, eco-labeled and not harmful to children.

In addition to the desire to support more responsible consumption and to make toys accessible to the most modest families – their price is on average 6 euros – the Rejoué association intends to defend the social inclusion of its employees. “The people who work at Rejoué are people far removed from employment with many social problems and mainly beneficiaries of the RSA “, says Claire Tournerier-Droual. In the first three months of work, Rejoué helps its employees to resolve their various health, housing, debt and sometimes addiction problems before helping them to develop a personal project. “68% of supported people find a job or training after a year and a half or two of support “, congratulates the founder. “When we buy these toys, we support social inclusion, we support another way of consuming […] we support the activity of an association […] and then we educate our children also in this alternative consumption “, concludes Claire Tournerier-Droual.
