Saturday, August 27, the monsoon season is wreaking havoc in Pakistan. The Asian country is in a state of emergency.
Bad weather is currently ravaging Pakistan. The pictures are impressive. A hotel collapsed under the weight of the waters. The torrential rains have already killed 900 people. In total, more than 30 million Pakistanis have been affected by the bad weather. “I can’t go anywhere else. I lost my grandchildren in a flood and some are still missing. I am very old and very worried about my grandchildren”, testifies a Pakistani woman.
To help the Pakistanis, thousands of rescuers are on the alert. For now, 200,000 homes have already been destroyed. Encampments are strewn along the roadside to accommodate people who have seen their homes demolished. Residents pray. Crops are also damaged by the weather. The UN has pledged $3 million to help Pakistan.
