In Toulouse, Brut met up with the team of the film “A Difficult Year” for previews. This is the new film by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache.
Four different cinemas, providing so many opportunities to confront the public, was what awaited the team of the film “A Difficult Year”, directed by the Nakache – Toledano duo. “We couldn’t wait for October 18 (release date of the film). We really wanted to meet people” explains Olivier Nakache. The film tells the story of two unemployed men who meet a group of environmental activists. More interested in the chips and beers offered than in the fight waged by the group, the two men got into the habit of participating in the group’s meetings.
“It changed a little my relationship to life, my relationship to the world”
In this film, the actors Pio Marmaï and Jonathan Cohen play in particular. Pio Marmaï looks back on the experience: “I think it changed a little my relationship to life, my relationship to the world. I’m not teaching anyone a lesson. On the contrary… I just try to listen to what I’m told”. If the first feedback from the public is good, Olivier Nakache confides that he is “never reassured. And so much the better, anyway. We always have these doubts. This is what keeps us moving forward”. The film “A Difficult Year” will be released in cinemas on October 18, 2023.
