This Wednesday, June 7, the new opus of the Transformers saga is released in French theaters, entitled “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”. In this film, rapper and videographer Mister V lends his voice to a new character: Mirage.
This is his first major dubbing. For this new experience, Mister V is not a rapper, comedian, youtuber but a voice actor. He lends his voice for the new character of the film Transformers : Rise of the Beasts which is released in French theaters today. An experience that he found all the more rewarding since Mister V is a big fan of the saga. “It’s unexpected, so I don’t realize that much. I think I’ll really realize the day we premiere”.
Mirage, a new character in the saga
For Mister V, playing a new character is enjoyable. The incarnation is freer, which allows him to also add his personal touch. Secretly, he hopes that a sequel will be planned, which could allow him to get back into the skin of this character once again. “I wasn’t taken just because it’s me, there really were tries. By habit of doing voiceovers in my videos and often using my voice to do dubbing for my characters, I already had something naturally and I think that’s what they liked”explains Mister V.
For him, dubbing is like a comedy, but with another way of acting, more expressive but without overacting. “It’s important to always have varying tones, it’s very musical, dubbing. When I dub, I don’t have headphones, I’m facing a screen, a text, it’s a kind of karaoke for the better, but it’s acting karaoke”. For him, making music and acting, two activities he practices in his professions, are real training for dubbing. “It’s the perfect training to arrive later on a dubbing and to have all the weapons, a minimum, to do a dubbing. It’s far from being overplayed, it’s just a game adapted to the image so that emotions and intentions come out well”he adds.
