Brut followed photographer Léa Collober to meet insects that have a bad reputation even though they are harmless to humans: jumping spiders.
Léa Collober is a photographer and video creator. She created the Instagram account “Enjoythenaturewithme” on which she shares photos of insects. This morning, she takes us to the Bocage des Antonins regional nature reserve to discover jumping spiders. “These are spiders that are almost everywhere around us. They are harmless to humans, like most spiders in France.” specifies the specialist.
“We have 1622 species of spiders in France”
Hedges, stones, pieces of wood… Spiders nest everywhere. “There are 1622 species of spiders in France. There are 10% of French species which are threatened with extinction and there are 6% of our species which are almost threatened with extinction” explains Léa Collober. It recalls the essential role of spiders in the natural ecosystem, particularly as predators. “We are lucky to have so much wealth in such a small territory as France, so it is our responsibility, it is up to us to protect all of that.” concludes the photographer and videographer.
