The Italian-accented plumber from Japan is now French. Because our country has an incredible talent: its video game industry with renowned graphic designers and programmers.

Attention, they will be released on October 20 on Switch console: Mario and the Rabbids. These characters find themselves in a new game, sparks of hope. A title stamped Nintendo but the Japanese firm did not design it on its territory. Because like the previous opus released in 2017, this second part was imagined and developed in France. We owe it to the tricolor studio Ubisoft, the third largest video game publisher in the world and 35 years of know-how in the sector.

“This is the only Mario adventure game made outside of Japan, it’s a show of respect and a source of pride, entrusts to franceinfo Xavier Manzanares, producer of the game. France is a real breeding ground for professionals with programmers, graphic designers, special effects experts… Professionals from our art and engineering schools, high-performance schools. It’s not for nothing that ideas flow and that we were able to make this slightly crazy bet to recover Mario.”

To surprise and gain Nintendo’s trust, “Ubisoft presented a prototype and a different type of game, animation capabilities and a touch of madness with Rabbids, reveals the producer. Added to this is the subtlety of humor which must be international”. The technological mastery and the narrative proposed by the studio have conquered the owners of Mario, a character with three decades of history, which arouses the expectation and demand of fans. The first game “Mario and the Rabbids” had reached more than 10 million gamers.
