The fumes are visible from a great distance. For a still unknown reason, a fire broke out this Friday afternoon around 4 p.m. south of Perpignan, on the Serrat d’en Vaquer hill, very close to the Auchan shopping area – Spanish Gate.
At 5 p.m., the fire, still not under control, had covered three hectares of vegetation. Significant resources are committed: 80 firefighters supported by a water bomber helicopter. Firefighters recommend that residents of the area close their windows and not go to the scene. No damage or injuries have been observed so far.
