Video Kylian Mbappé has committed to donating, in the future, 30% of the profits of his companies to his IBKM foundation, created to help young people realize their dreams

Footballer Kylian Mbappé, one of the highest paid in the world, invests his money in several companies but also in an association helping young people. At its head, his mother, Fayza Lamari. The two made a pact, which she reveals in this extract from “Special Envoy”.

He is one of the highest paid football players on the planet: more than 100 million euros per year if we add his extra-sporting income to his salary at PSG. Kylian Mbappé invests this money in several companies, whose success is based on its performance and its image. Also his communication is very controlled, in particular by his lawyer, Delphine Verheyden. Present at his side from the start, she attended this interview for “Special Envoy”.

Fayza Lamari, Kylian Mbappé’s mother, also works for the success of her son’s business… but not without compensation: the two have made a pact. To help young people also realize their dreams of success, in 2020, she encouraged him to create an association which she runs with a team: IBKM (for “Inspired by Kylian Mbappé”), financed directly by the footballer with a contribution from its sponsors. On January 18, 2024, she spoke in “Special Envoy”.

“If we could have taken 10 billion, we would have taken it”

Fayza Lamari recounts in this extract how she negotiated with her son: “I am willing to work 23 hours a day for you. The only thing I like is IBKM. But it’s 50/50.“Despite the player’s protests, she would have been intractable:”Below 30, I retire, I go on vacation to the Maldives, but I don’t work for you!“And she won:”medium-long term“, 30% of the profits generated by Kylian Mbappé’s companies will be donated to IBKM.

While footballers are often criticized for their astronomical salaries, would donating part of it to social causes be a way of relieving guilt? This “former civil servant, with average salary“assumes:”There is no guilt. Kylian’s new contract [avec le PSG], we’ve talked about it a lot, but I’m not ashamed. And if we could have taken 10 billion, we would have taken it. Because the system and the environment want that.”
