Elnaaz Norouzi, actress of Iranian origin, was also a victim of the morality police in Iran. On her Instagram account, she tells how she experienced her arrest, echoing the case of Mahsa Amini.
“I wanted to show you that what happened to Mahsa could have happened to me.“Elnaaz Norouzi is an Iranian-German actress, known in India. She recently spoke on the case that has paralyzed Iran for a few days. This is the death of Mahsa Amini, who died following her arrest by the morality police. “The color of your nails, your veil, your clothes, anything. If they want to take you on, they take you on and no one can stop them.”, explains the actress.
The young woman has already been confronted with the morality police during a trip to Tehran. “I was on the way with my cousin, when a woman appeared in front of me (…) She asked me: ‘What is that?’ I had no idea what she was talking about at all. She repeated to me: ‘What is that?’ I did not understand. I asked her, ‘What are you talking about, ma’am?'”, recalls Elnaaz Norouzi. She is then taken away by the police because her pants are not loose enough.
“It can happen to any woman in Iran. Now we need help. We need the message to get through. The world needs to know what these oppressors are doing to our women and our people. We’ve had enough and we want them to go”she gets angry.
