Thanks to the floating structure he created, François is able to produce vegetables while saving 90% of fresh water. For Brut, he explains how.
François and his colleagues have built a market garden turtle at sea. With this floating structure, they are developing a new self-sufficient agriculture, which allows them to produce vegetables in a more ecological way.
“My wish is that we get out of oil-based agriculture and regain, with conviviality, in a short circuit, our food autonomy in fish, which bring us Omega3, in vegetables, which we imports from more than 1000 kilometers…”
François imagined a floating garden to develop his own self-sufficient agriculture. With this method, he manages to save up to 90% of fresh water.
“Somewhere, the vegetables are the fish water treatment plant, that’s why we go back and forth and it allows us to save 85 to 90% of water gentle.”
In addition to water, plants need soil and air to grow properly. And François also came up with an ingenious idea for his market gardening turtle.
“These are tubs on clay balls, they replace the earth, they ensure the turtle’s breathing, I take on water, I empty myself and I breathe. Because our plants need water but also air.”
