The young French break nugget set the Place de la Concorde alight during her first appearance, conceding a draw against the Lithuanian “Nicka” on Friday, for the break’s debut at the Games.
“Sissy” enters the scene. Entering the women’s breakdancing competition, for the first appearance of the discipline at the Olympic Games, the Frenchwoman Sya Dembélé, known as b-girl “Sissy” conceded a draw (one round each) for his entry into the competition, against Lithuanian “Nicka”, Friday August 9 at the Concorde.
Promise of a world break and good luck for a French medal in these Games, the b-girl 16-year-old took the lead by winning the first round, before seeing her opponent come back to level. In front of a crowd won over to her cause, the Frenchwoman won her second battle against the Australian “Raygun”, before conceding a new draw against the American Logan Edra. With one win and two draws, “Sissy” finished in second place in group B, and will play her quarter-final against the Japanese “Ami” this evening (8:00 p.m.).
