Xavier Bertrand, president of Les Républicains (LR) of the Hauts-de-France region, was the guest of “4 Vérités” on France 2, Wednesday November 15.
Part of the Hauts-de-France region has been very hard hit by recent floods. “We have thousands of homes that have been affected. We have 200,000 people who are now seeing their daily lives impacted”exposed President Les Républicains (LR) of the region in the “4 Vérités” on France 2, Wednesday November 15. “The emergency beyond relief, because the solidarity has been tremendous, is insurance”estimated Xavier Bertrand.
Xavier Bertrand’s requests to insurers
Continuing on the question of insurance, the president of Hauts-de-France requested that “as soon as a flood claim is opened, in the context of natural disasters, there is an advance of a few thousand euros which can be released within eight days”in particular to allow disaster victims to buy clothes or even replace equipment destroyed by the floods.
“We need experts from all over France. Given the number of houses that are affected, it is not only with experts from the Hauts-de-France region that we will be able to get through this”also called Xavier Bertrand. “When you are recognized as a natural disaster, you have a deductible for individuals of 380 euros. (…) We have decided with the departments of Pas-de-Calais and Nord that we let’s take care of this franchise for all disaster victims in the region”he announced.
