On the occasion of the legislative elections, the FN achieved a historic breakthrough with 89 deputies elected to the National Assembly. This is the first time since 1986 that the party will be able to form a parliamentary group.
In 35 years, this is the first time that the party led by Marine Le Pen will be able to form a parliamentary group. To create a group, it is necessary to bring together at least 15 deputies, which the RN had not succeeded in doing so far.
From now on, the deputies of the National Rally will be able to demand a suspension of the session. They will also benefit from offices and meeting rooms, as well as financial allocations.
The 89 deputies will also be able to open commissions of inquiry in order to control the action of the government, as well as access to the presidency of the finance committee, which generally falls to the first opposition group.
