A website which allows you to find out if your household is eligible for an electric car for less than 100 euros per month was put online on Thursday December 14. The government had declared that the vehicles would be accessible to the less well-off classes. The main condition to benefit from it: earn less than 15,400 euros per year for a single individual, and 38,500 euros for a couple with a child. To be eligible, you must also drive regularly: more than 8,000 kilometers per year or to roll more than 15 kilometers to go to work every day.
Emmanuel Macron promotes the site
In the morning, the President of the Republic himself promoted the site: “You will see if you meet the conditions and you will perhaps be among the first French people to have access to this leasing and these electric vehicles.” Among the cars concerned are the Peugeot E-208L’Opel Moka and the Twingo E-Tech from Renault. Up to 25,000 electric cars are expected to be released in 2024.
