Four months after the demonstration against anti-Semitism that she organized alongside Gérard Larcher, the President of the National Assembly is “unfortunately not reassured” about the evolution of anti-Semitism in France.
“Dozens and dozens of deputies” have received “a clearly anti-Semitic email”, said Yaël Braun-Pivet, interviewed in the program “Dimanche en politique”, on France 3, Sunday March 10. For the President of the National Assembly, the climate of anti-Semitism is still present, recalling the attack, Friday March 1, of a sixty-year-old wearing a kippah in front of a Parisian synagogue.
Two days ago, “I myself have again made a complaint in the name of article 40 for dozens and dozens of deputies who received a clearly anti-Semitic email”, she reveals. Four months after the demonstration against anti-Semitism that she organized alongside Gérard Larcher, the President of the Assembly is not “unfortunately not reassured” regarding the evolution of anti-Semitism in France.
“Anti-Semitic attacks continue,” she asserts, and “the climate remains anxiety-provoking for the Jewish community.” Yaël Braun-Pivet adds that “the Minister of the Interior, moreover, has strengthened protections”. “It’s a fight for yesterday, today and tomorrow,” she concludes.
