In most French urban centers, the rental market is particularly tight. “Special Envoy” followed French people who work but cannot find accommodation.

Elodie and Julien work, they earn 4,000 euros between them, but for eight months, they have been forced to live at the campsite. Alizée, 30, is a permanent employee in insurance but is unsuccessfully looking for an apartment to rent. Victor, a young employee in a pharmacy, is forced to live temporarily in a hotel.

Almost all major cities affected

In most major French cities, the rental market has never been so tight. Between Lyon and La Rochelle, “Special Envoy” followed French people who work but for whom finding accommodation has become a desperate quest.
