They are 100 years old and in great shape. These dashing centenarians still ride bicycles or horseback, and there are many more of them than you might imagine. There are four areas on the planet that have an unusual proportion of centenarians and what scientists call ultra-nonagenarians. Called “blue zones”, these regions intrigue demographers around the world: have their inhabitants unlocked the secret of longevity?
