He is one of the best rugby players in the world. Originally from the small village of Castelnau-Magnoac, with 700 inhabitants, Antoine Dupont takes us on a tour of his childhood farm, where he grew up.

We are in Castelnau-Magnoac, a small village located more than an hour from Toulouse, in the Hautes-Pyrénées. This is where Antoine Dupont grew up. “My grandparents bought this farm in the 1980s and renovated it into a hotel-restaurant. And in fact, we lived there with my family, among the customers, ultimately” comments the rugby player. With his older brother, Clément, he occupied a room located “right above the bar. So we were always used, on weekends, to sleeping with music.”

In 2018, the two brothers chose to relaunch the activity of the Barthas estate. “We have perpetuated the tradition. We are the seventh generation of hotel-restaurant owners. And then we know that a hotel-restaurant in a village is also what makes the life of the village. That’s also why that it was important to us to bring this village life back to life.” declares Antoine Dupont, who works with his brother Clément, breeder of black pigs from Bigorre.
