Sponge, glue, toilet paper… Here, everything can be eaten, but it’s not what you think: they are incredible pastries. Brut spent a day with Angelica, pastry chef and queen of trompe-l’œil.
“I got noticed on social networks by doing Disney princess massages. I started to make tutorials, after I was invited in living rooms to give courses, to make demonstrations”, explains Angelica.
For her followers, the pastry chef creates cakes in the form of everyday objects. “People ask me to answer them by eating a roll of paper, a pizza, a toilet brush too… I love a challenge”says the young woman.
“I have a community that is totally into my delirium so it’s even them who sauce me to find trompe-l’oeil to make pranks. And that’s what I love”.
“When I ate that famous sponge cake, people thought I had a disease, that I was eating things. I continued to play the game with those who understood”adds Angelica.
