On the Côte d’Azur, the quest for low-cost surgery almost cost Fadila dearly: her nose became necrotic after an injection in a secret practice.

“We came within two fingers of the catamaran”, whispers Dr. Kestemont, the one who saved his face. Without her intervention, Fadila would have lost half of her nose. “He saved my life, says his patient. I was almost on the verge of suicide. Without him, I might not be here.”

Four months earlier, the young woman had gone to a secret practice for an injection, which she had filmed herself on her mobile phone. On the video, the woman who stings her is not even wearing gloves… When she arrived at Dr. Kestemont, the left side of her nose was nothing but a huge scab. And without treatment, there would have remained… only a huge hole, says the doctor.

Three weeks of very painful treatment

The vessels being blocked by fragments of hyaluronic acid, the blood no longer circulated and Fadila’s nose began to become necrotic. To dissolve the hyaluronic acid fragments so as to revascularize the area, the doctor injected an enzyme into Fadila’s nose. The treatment, at the rate of three injections daily for three weeks, is so painful that the patient almost gave up. But the necrosis healed, and Fadila kept her nose.

Today, all she needs is a bit of makeup to camouflage her scar. The clandestine intervention leaves him with many regrets: that of his face before, and especially of his smile. “Look, I can’t even smile anymore. It’s all frozen.”
