This educational executive consulted pornographic sites during the hours when he was in charge of preparatory class boarders. It was thanks to the determination of two students from this prestigious private establishment that the affair came to light. The whistleblowers testify in this extract from “Additional investigation”.

Prefect of studies at Stanislas college, he was responsible for the supervision and support of 400 students. At the beginning of November 2018, Olivier Parent was dismissed for serious misconduct, after the establishment discovered that he was consulting child pornography sites during his working hours. Of the “images of young adolescents of the same age as the boarding school students”, noted a judgment from the Industrial Court in 2020.

Two years earlier, neither the families, nor the students, nor the teachers had been informed of the reason for his dismissal. When Benoît and Léon (his first name has been changed), two former interns at Stanislas, discover the judgment of the Industrial Court, they are “very shocked to think that it could have happened without [qu’ils aient] been informed, and [qu’ils avaient] lived for a year under the control of this prefect, who had the key to [leurs] rooms…”

“The feeling I had straight away was: we were put in danger,” accuses Benoît. Léon, for his part, is concerned about photos of students that the supervisor could have kept and circulated, because “He was someone who took a lot of photos, and photos of everyone.”

A question torments them: did the former prefect commit sexual assault when he was at Stanislas? They then asked the establishment to reveal the reason for Olivier Parent’s dismissal, and to set up a listening cell for possible victims. On three occasions, they met the former director Frédéric Gautier in his office, and were met with refusal.

The two students then threaten to alert the press. In a recording obtained by “Complément d’investigation”, the director warns them about therisk, for Stan, of damage to his reputation, to his image”.

Faced with the director’s attitude, Benoît and Léon contacted the daily The Worldwhich reveals the whole story. Stanislas ended up opening a listening cell in January 2021… more than two years after the supervisor’s dismissal.

As for Olivier Parent, he has since been indicted for the rape of a student – which he denies having committed – in another establishment, before his time at Stanislas. Furthermore, on September 9, 2024, it was sentenced to one year in prison for acts of “violence” against several Stanislas students. He appealed the decision.

Excerpt from “Stanislas: the excesses of a school of excellence”, a document to be seen in “Additional investigation” on October 10, 2024.
