A bright flash in the middle of the night. If you live in the north of France, you may have seen a shooting star on the night of Sunday February 12 to Monday February 13. It is actually a meteoroid, dubbed Sar 2667, which entered the Earth’s atmosphere around 4 a.m. according to the European Space Agency (ESA).

The small asteroid, one meter in diameter, was particularly visible above Rouen (Seine-Maritime), but Internet users have also shared videos in which it can be seen from Paris or the south of England. It’s only the seventh time an asteroid has been predicted to pass before it happens. “a sign of rapid advances in (their) detection”welcomed the ESA on Twitter.
