Hedgehogs, birds, squirrels… In the garage of this house, Tom, Amandine and Léonie collect and care for wild animals in distress. Brut spent a day at the Faune Sauvage Hospital.

“There are approximately 616 species that we support. The only goal is to stabilize them and refer them to other care centers afterwards for the whole rehabilitation side..” Set up under a house, the Faune Sauvage Hospital, located in Laroque, recovers injured or distressed animals in order to treat them and then reintegrate them into the wild.

As a general rule, the animals that arrive at the Fauna Sauvage Hospital are directly taken in by private individuals. Tom, Amandine, and Léonie then have the task of stabilizing the animal and then sending it back to a veterinary clinic or a care center. “Often it is individuals who find the animals. We see with them so that the animal can be transmitted to the care center, or to a veterinary clinic near their home.”, Explain Amandine, head of care.

For Tom, co-founder and head of the clinic, it is important “to help these wild animals because we are part of a chain, we are a link in this chain tooi.” With this hospital set up in a garage, he hopes “to be able to restore the biodiversity which is in decline” and make up for human errors. “Often, what we have here in care, it is due to the man. It is necessary to repair a little bit, precisely, the harm that we can do to all these animals.
