[VIDÉO] A facade collapses and demolishes a balcony in La Petite-Patrie

The facade of a building in the La Petite-Patrie district of Montreal was partially torn off and caused the collapse of at least one balcony of an apartment building.

The top of the building was ripped off, and the bricks literally ripped through the underlying structures.

The rain and the wind could have caused this incident, which fortunately caused more fear than harm.

“It was a big noise, there were parents coming out at the same time. We saw a lot of smoke, dust, it was still very surprising, ”says a resident of the building in an interview with TVA Nouvelles.

“It’s scary, but the emergency services arrived quickly. It’s dramatic, but we’re happy that no one was injured,” commented another resident.

The City of Montreal claims to have good communication with the owner of the building, an investigation will be conducted to find out if the brick had been installed correctly.
