Victory for the Predators against the Flames

(Calgary) Matt Duchene settled the overtime debate and the Nashville Predators beat the Calgary Flames 3-2 on Tuesday.

The Flames buzzed, but immediately afterwards, in a two-on-one, Mikael Granlund passed Duchene, whose shot beat goaltender Jacob Markstrom at 1:37 in overtime.

It was a second assist for Granlund in the game. The Flames’ winning streak ended in six games.

Juuse Saros made 38 saves, twice as many as Markstrom.

Luke Kunin and Filip Forsberg were the Predators’ other scorers, who are unbeaten in their last four games. Nashville will be back in action on Wednesday in Edmonton.

Matthew Tkachuk and Oliver Kylington scored for the Flames, scoring just one in six powerplay.

Johnnu Gaudreau was shut off the scorecard for the first time in eight games.

Calgary will now prepare to host Dallas on Thursday.
