The least we can say is that they had put the small dishes in the big ones! This Tuesday evening, October 11, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden received their counterparts from the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander and Maxima, for an official reception of impressive pomp. And in the presence of a large part of the Scandinavian clan: Crown Princess Victoria and her brother, Prince Carl Philip were also present with their husbands.
And it is perhaps they who radiated the most, moreover : In her purple dress covering one shoulder, the future Queen of Sweden looked absolutely stunning and chose a matching Napoleonic tiara to shine all the more. On the arm of her husband, Prince Daniel, she greeted King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, whom she knows particularly well: the monarch’s mother, Queen Beatrix, is indeed her godmother and their eldest daughter, Catharina-Amalia, was bridesmaid at the 40-year-old’s wedding!
The Swedish couple had left their two children Estelle, 10, and Oscar, 6, at home for the evening but that did not prevent the adorable little girl to meet the sovereigns in the day, she who will one day be queen after her mother. The children had also perhaps stayed with their cousins Alexander (6 years old), Gabriel (5 years old) and Julian (18 months), the toddlers of Prince Carl Philip and his wife Sofia, present alongside their family.
