Victoria and Sofia of Sweden: Duel of tiaras and sumptuous dresses for a very chic reception at the royal palace

Sumptuous outfits, dazzling tiaras and a gigantic banquet: everything came together on Wednesday April 6 to make the reception given by King Carl Gustav of Sweden an exceptional social event. It was at the royal palace in Stockholm that the members of the House of Bernadotte welcomed their guests.

The sovereign, on the throne for forty-eight years already, appeared very elegant in his ceremonial costume on the arm of his wife Queen Silvia. He offered an official dinner to 150 guests from all over the kingdom, an assembly made up of representatives of the diplomatic corps, parliament, government, authorities, science, sports, business and culture. All were met by the royal family during trips to the country and were invited in thanks for their “important contributions“at the local, regional or national level, said the royal palace.

During this banquet, it was thus necessary to count on the presence of the Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, the eldest of the children of the royal couple. At 44, the one who is destined to become the future queen of Sweden, caused a sensation on the arm of her husband Daniel – thus denying ugly rumors of divorce – in a long red dress with short sleeves and low cut on the chest. A look completed by a two-row Boucheron silver tiara with a diamond in the center; a jewel inherited in 2013.

The clan was also represented by the charming Prince Carl Philip on the arm of his wife, the no less charming Princess Sofia. She was dressed in a chic bottle-green dress and she also wore a tiara. And not just any: that of her wedding, in silver and composed of emeralds. Basically, it was a necklace given to Queen Silvia by a member of the royal family of Thailand before it was transformed into a tiara as a gift for the young woman.
