Basketball player Victor Wembanyama ordered fifteen pairs of shoes from JM Weston, a Limoges company. This one had to adapt its production for this colossus which wears a 57.

Victor Wembanyama is a colossus of 2m25 well fitted. It was from the JM Weston factory in Limoges (New Aquitaine) that he ordered fifteen pairs of size 57 shoes. Gaël Coeuret, director of the manufacture, estimates:In France, we think we are the only ones who can do this in less than two months. We managed to develop a form and models, and to make a graduation 57. An exceptional size.

“A real challenge”

In practice, Sylvain Honoré, the manufacturing manager, explains that “it’s a real challenge on the tricks of the hand, on the skills, on the cutting of the materials“. With its shoes, the Limoges brand enters through the front door of the NBA with Victor Wembanyama as ambassador. The icing on the shoe: the player has under his pairs a W as a reminder of his name or that of the manufacturer.
