When you’re a football star, most matches take place in the evening and very often, that’s when burglars choose to strike and break into the house of the wealthy sportsmen. A well-known practice in France where several players have already been there. Angel Di Maria or Marquinhos, the Parisians are among the favorite targets of criminals. But it’s not a French specialty, since it can take place all over Europe and especially in England, where the Swedish defender of Manchester United, Victor Lindelof, experienced an episode that was traumatic to say the least…
The Manchester United team-mate of Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane was on the pitch last Wednesday with his Brentford side. A meeting won by his team, despite the anger of CR7, but for the 27-year-old Swede, the main thing was elsewhere that evening. During the meeting, intruders committed a burglary at his home while his wife, Maja Nilsson Lindelof, 3-year-old boy, Ted Louie, and baby Francis were inside. Terrified, the young woman then locked herself in with her two sons while the criminals entered the house.
We are fine despite the circumstances, but it was obviously very traumatic and scary for my children and me
Finally safe and sound, Victor Lindelof’s wife posted an explanatory letter on her Instagram account just a few hours ago. “During Victor’s game on Wednesday night there was a burglary at our Manchester home. I was at home with my two children and we managed to hide and lock ourselves in a room before they enter the house”, she writes in the preamble before reassuring her 241,000 subscribers on Instagram: “We are doing well despite the circumstances, but it was obviously very traumatic and scary for my children and me”. After this terrible episode, the family decided to take some time out. “We are now in Sweden where we will spend quiet time with our families”, concludes Maja.
A bad time to pass for Victor Lindelof and his family, but fortunately, more fear than harm for his family.
