She went from a wheelchair to the catwalks. At only 32 years old, Stéphanie Henry has lived a thousand lives. The resident of Coursac represents the Dordogne in the Miss Curvy Aquitaine competition, on October 29 in Bordeaux. The contest of misses who assume their shapes and curves. From 42 to 60, these women want to put an end to the diktat of thinness. “I wanted to participate to show that there are many forms of beauty and to show that we can overcome obstacles”, confides Stephanie with a smile.

Hemiplegic and in a wheelchair at 27

This big fan of fashion gained 25 kilos in just a few months. At 27, then pregnant with her first daughter, she is victim of three strokes, back to back. Hemiplegic on the left side, the young woman spent a year in a wheelchair. But by dint of re-education and motivation, she resumes the path of parades. “What required the most concentration and effort from me were the photo shoots because you have to stay static, it’s the position that gives me the most problems and makes me dizzy”, explains the mother of two children.

The tall, green-eyed brunette also struggles to take on your new bodyhis handicap and his curves. “I was ashamed that my thighs were touching, ashamed of wearing a two-piece swimsuit”, admits Stephanie. The one who has 100,000 subscribers on TikTok then exchanges with Miss Curvy, and chats with her subscribers. She regains confidence. Today, she puts on a tight dress without fear. _”They don’t tell me anymore”your unsightly little canI am told ‘your little can has all its charm’“,_ smiled the young woman.

We must stop discriminating against people because they have a different morphology

By participating in this competition, Stéphanie Henry also wants send a message to anyone who insults or criticizes her on social networks or in the street. “People who will ask me if I’m pregnant, those who tell me ‘can’t you lose weight?’ or those who answer me ‘you are participating in a contest of ugly women’, she says. We must stop discriminating against people because they have a different morphology.”
