Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen, away from the field since his impressive cardiac arrest in his country’s first match at the Euro, has resumed training, an Odense club official said on Thursday (December 2nd).
Officially under contract with Inter Milan until 2024, Eriksen, 29, is currently at Odense, where he made his debut and still owns a residence. According to the newspaper, Eriksen trained at 8 a.m. on Wednesday with a coach. “We are very happy that Christian Eriksen is maintaining his form these days on our pitches.“, welcomed Hemmingsen.
“Eriksen reached out to us, and he is now training by himself.”

Eriksen returned to Italy in August, a few weeks after having a defibrillator implanted, a device to prevent the risk of sudden death. But seeing him again on a Serie A lawn remains improbable for the moment, as the wearing of a pacemaker is, in Italy, a contraindication to the practice of professional football.
Inter had indicated this summer that their player would “follow the rehabilitation program prepared by specialists in Copenhagen“, but without commenting further on his chances of replaying in Italy. The most likely, at this stage, is to see Eriksen, if he wishes to continue his career, to go abroad, in a championship allowing the wearing of a defibrillator.
Corriere dello Sport have discussed a possible return to Ajax Amsterdam, where Eriksen made his professional debut (2010-2013). Ajax has a player who also has a cardiac device, Dutch international Daley Blind.
