very moved, Claudio Capéo rants against the French who discriminate against migrants

While President Macron has positioned himself by indicating that we ‘could not accommodate all the misery in the world’, the question of Tunisian migrants arriving by the thousands on the island of Lampedusa in Italy divides Europe. The President of the European Parliament, Ursula von der Leyen, recently visited the site, but the 27 countries of the European Union are struggling to find a lasting solution: should all migrants be welcomed on European soil? Asked by RTL this Friday, September 29, 2023, the singer Claudio Capéo, who has long lived on the streets and in the metros, delivered a strong testimony for migrants.

‘Of course it touches me, because these are people who are like us. Just yesterday, I left Mulhouse, I saw migrants stationed at the station, they wanted to get on the train to return to Paris, to go to England, to make their way… These were people who were in their country, who had everything, or perhaps not much, who are surely fathers of families, who have left their wives and children, who are taking to the road, and who are trying to look for a better future. It touches me a lot, it gives me chills. I tell myself that it must be really hard for them […] Some people look at them with suspicion, but they are men! You just have to talk to them, smile at them, they’re like us… We’re not any better!” explained the interpreter of A Man Standing, very moved, at the microphone of Vincent Parizot in RTL Bonsoir.
