Regarding the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, Pierre Poilievre wrote: “I am also glad that the alleged shooter is dead. Democracy must prevail.”
Did I read it right? I said to myself. I reread it. But yes! The one who dreams of becoming Prime Minister of Canada rejoices in the death of a man! So there are human lives that do not count in his eyes. Even more: he makes it a question of democracy. So, in a democratic regime, the sovereign people can decide the life or death of their fellow men.
Does this mean that, once Pierre Poilievre becomes Prime Minister, he would reinstate the death penalty? That is very disturbing.
