Véronique Sanson: This huge star she left in a “cowardly” way, terrible regrets…

Veronique Sanson is one of the guest artists of the third premium of the star Academy presented by Nikos Aliagas tonight on TF1. In addition to Véronique Sanson, other artists will accompany the students such as Keen’V, gims, Tom Gregorythe electro pop rock band Hyphen Hyphen and Zaz.

If in the past Véronique Sanson was able to participate in a few seasons of the star Academy as a guest, another artist unfortunately did not have this privilege, it is Michael Berger (died August 1992). A singer she knows well for having lived a love affair with him when she was 20 years old. Their relationship ended abruptly after the latter decided to leave him in 1973 in order to go and live in the United States with Stephen Stills with whom she married on March 14 of the same year in Guildford (England).

I would never have done what I did if I had stayed with Michel

In an interview given to New Obs in 2019, the ex-wife of Pierre Palmade returned with regret to her separation from Michel Berger: “I did not feel guilty for leaving, but for having had the cowardice of not warning Michel. In my defense, I was very young, I must have been 20 or 21 years old. So not guilty, but a coward. Between the two, there is a sacred nuance. I was a coward and I blamed myself so much. The regrets came later, when I told myself that I should have kept both. I would have been the happiest of women.” In the past, Véronique Sanson had dedicated a song Cursed to the husband of France Gall (deceased in 2018).

The singer ended up drawing the positive from her separation from Michel Berger: “At the beginning, everything was going very well, but I was plagued by this question: was it not wrong for me to leave? Now I know that I was right. I would never have done what I did if I had stayed with Michel, if I had not followed Stephen to the United States. I would not have written what I wrote without this freedom, this other way of working (…) And then I would not have had my son, this wonderful man.

Indeed, Véronique Sanson and Stephen Stills gave birth to a son, Christopher, born in 1974. He is a singer-songwriter. A complete artist like his parents!
