(Rome) American actress Sigourney Weaver, famous in particular for her role in the saga Alienwill receive an honorary Golden Lion for his entire career at 81e Venice Film Festival, organizers announced Friday.

Sigourney Weaver is honored for building bridges “between the most sophisticated art house cinema and films that engage with audiences in a frank and original way, while remaining true to itself,” she said. -he adds.
Weaver will receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Film Festival, which runs from August 28 to September 7. She said she would “proudly accept this award as a tribute to all those who helped bring these films to life.”
The 74-year-old actress, who has already won two Golden Globes and a Grammy Award, rose to fame as Ellen Ripley in the sci-fi film Alien by Ridley Scott, released in 1979.
