Vendée hospitals regulate access to emergencies at night for the whole summer

From this Friday in Vendée, you will no longer be able to go to the emergency room between 11 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.. Public hospitals in the department restrict access all summer due to lack of staff. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, you must first dial 15 or 116-117 in other cases, to redirect patients and prioritize the most serious emergencies.

A sustainable system?

[…] If the filtering works and relieves the teams, we will support a request to perpetuate this mode of operation.

The situation is not not new in Vendée. At Luçon and Fontenay-le-Comte hospitals, this system has already been in place since June 8. In Montaigu, hospital emergencies are temporarily closed at night (between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.).
