Vehicles destroyed by fire in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

(Dollard-des Ormeaux) A van and an automobile were destroyed by fire at the beginning of the night, Thursday, in the entrance of a private residence in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, in the north-west of the island of Montreal.

It was a call made around 1 a.m. to the 911 emergency telephone exchange which alerted the authorities to the fire of the two vehicles near a residence on rue Roger-Pilon near the intersection of rue Mirabel.

According to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), even if the firefighters quickly brought the flames under control, the two vehicles are unrecoverable. The flames did not spread to the property.

The SPVM reported at the end of the night that the firefighters of the Montreal Fire Department (SSIM) had not found any incendiary object in the rubble. However, the investigation was handed over to the SPVM arson squad; no arrests have been reported.

Two suspects were reportedly seen fleeing the scene as the fire started, police said.

The remains of the two vehicles were towed away; they will be analyzed.
