The Sûreté du Québec opened an investigation on Sunday after the discovery of two bodies in an opulent house in Vaudreuil-Dorion, in Montérégie. Without news, a relative had called the police. But for the neighborhood, this residence is one more touching mystery.
“We never saw them, explains an immediate neighbor to The Press. There was never a car coming or going. For us, it’s as if there was no one, we didn’t see them. »
Early Sunday afternoon, police officers from the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges Est were called to go to rue des Sauternes, in Vaudreuil-Dorion. A small circular street lined with imposing stone houses and mature trees, located near Lac des Deux Montagnes.
At the scene, the police found the bodies of a man and a woman. No information had been released at the end of the evening on the causes of death. According to our information, the two people were related.
They had lived in this house for several years and were “rather young”, less than 40 years old, according to the neighborhood.
Living in seclusion
In the neighborhood, everyone knows each other, neighbors told The Press. “In summer, we’re all outside,” testifies another neighbor, who has lived for about three years opposite the house where the bodies were found. “But we don’t know if they are there,” she adds.
This secluded life is intriguing in the neighborhood. “They were young, but they didn’t go to work, they didn’t go out, they don’t have children, they never received visitors,” this neighbor wonders.
The street is also very quiet, but the neighborhood hasn’t heard anything out of the ordinary recently. “This morning, I was amazed to see the police in front of this house,” she says. We don’t know what happened. It’s weird that we didn’t realize anything, and that we didn’t hear anything. »
The forensic identification service and investigators from the crimes against the person investigation service were called to shed light on the tragedy.
