The talk show of the popular comedian, Martin Matte livebroadcast on TVA, will not be renewed, according to what the Montreal Journal.


“TVA offered me to do a second season,” Martin Matte told Montreal Journal Wednesday. I was super honored by this great mark of trust. As I had another big project coming up at the same time, unfortunately I couldn’t do both. »

TVA management confirmed that there would be no second season. Martin Matte, who did not want to give details of this “big project” which would occupy him, still said he was happy with his experience at the helm of this show.

“There was a mini-storm in the first few weeks, there were a lot of comments. It wasn’t always complimentary. I said to myself, “Forget it. You launched yourself into the void, and I find it beautiful”” he confided to Montreal Journal.

The talk show that was the subject of parodies Bye bye 2023 as well as the show Reviewed and corrected, at the Rideau Vert, did not have the success hoped for, neither by the channel nor by the host. Ratings, which have fallen by half since its launch, have stabilized at around 400,000 viewers per show.
