(Vancouver) Home sales in the Vancouver area fell 5.2% in October from the same month last year, while remaining above historical averages, the area’s real estate board said on Tuesday.
A total of 3,494 properties changed owners last month, compared to 3,687 in October 2020, the real estate board said.
Even so, the number of transactions remained 22.4% above the 10-year October sales average.
The number of new properties listed for sale fell to 4,049 in October, from 5,571 a year ago.
The total number of homes listed for sale on the MLS system in the Metro Vancouver area was 8,034, up from 12,416 in October last year.
The benchmark MLS Composite Price Index for all residential homes in the Metro Vancouver area hit $ 1,199,400 last month, up 14.7% from October of last year.
