Vancouver | Crane collapses, firefighters battle multiple blazes

(Vancouver) Vancouver Fire Department confirms a crane has collapsed at a construction site as firefighters battle multiple blazes that broke out in the city’s west end Tuesday.


Fire crews attempted to extinguish blazes at several locations, including on Dunbar Street and 41e West Avenue.

In an email, the fire department confirmed that a crane fell, but did not say whether the fire started because of the collapse.

In videos posted on social media, a crane could be seen collapsing amid huge flames.

No deaths or injuries have been reported so far.

Residents were evacuated from the area.
