(Vancouver) The Vancouver Canucks have made some changes behind their bench, including a promotion to instructor Yogi Svejkovsky, who is now an assistant coach.
The team also mentioned that Daniel and Henrik Sedin will play larger roles within the organization, as they will be involved in the daily operations of the NHL club and its American Hockey League affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks.
The moves come after last week’s announcement of a “mutual understanding” allowing assistant coach Mike Yeo to leave the organization.
The Ottawa Senators announced Tuesday that Yeo has joined the Ontario organization as an assistant coach, alongside head coach Travis Green, with whom he previously worked with the Canucks.
Svejkovsky, who is 47, spent two seasons in a role responsible for player development for the Canucks and their affiliate club. He also managed the Vancouver Giants in the Western Junior Hockey League (WHL) as well as the Delta Hockey Academy.
