(Vancouver) The Vancouver Canucks signed star forward JT Miller to a seven-year, $56 million contract extension on Friday.

The 29-year-old American’s offensive output skyrocketed in his third season with the Canucks. During the 2021-22 season, he amassed 99 points (32 goals and 67 assists) in 80 games.
Miller will pocket $8.0 million annually until the end of the contract extension, which is after the 2029-30 season.
Acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning in June 2019 for a first- and third-round pick, Miller had 217 points in 202 games with the Canucks. In career, he had 169 goals, 285 assists in 637 games.
During the 2022-23 season, Miller will serve out his final year of a five-year, $5.25 million annual contract he signed with the Lightning.
He also played for the New York Rangers between 2012 and 2018.
