Wout van Aert won the time trial of the 20th stage of the Tour de France, Saturday, in Rocamadour. Second, Jonas Vingegaard keeps his yellow jersey without shaking.
Imperturbable. Favorite of the day, Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) lived up to expectations to win the 20th stage of the Tour de France between Lacapelle-Marival and Rocamadour, this Saturday. The green jersey edged teammate Jonas Vingegaard (+19″) and Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (+27″) to claim a third Tour victory this year. World champion in the discipline and in the lead before the departure of the Belgian, Filippo Ganna (INEOS Grenadiers) finished in 5th place (+42″) behind Geraint Thomas (+32″).
Long ahead of Van Aert’s time, the leader of the general classification found himself very close to the fall on a badly negotiated turn less than three kilometers from the finish. The Dane then slowed down so as not to lose everything before the last stage in Paris. On the French side, David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) consolidates his 4th place overall by finishing 24th in the stage (+3’10), while Romain Bardet (Team DSM), author of an identical time, climbs to 7th seat in front Louis Meintjes.
