Bloodhunt is a battle royale third-person action with RPG elements set in a tabletop role-playing game universe Vampire: The Masquerade. Players take on the role of vampires from one of four enemy clans and venture into the dark streets of Prague to battle each other.
In our opinion, the highest quality of Bloodhunt is the incredible freedom of movement it offers players. The watchword here is “verticality”. You can climb and run on the facade of buildings, as well as jump from roof to roof like a superhero, resulting in fast-paced confrontations that reward speed and precision.
The map is also well constructed to make these frantic fights possible. Here, Prague becomes a kind of maze of narrow streets bounded by tall buildings with sloping roofs. Gothic and modern architecture come together in a rainy and gloomy atmosphere reminiscent of the films of John Wick.
Each match has up to 45 players and the objective is, of course, to make it out alive, either solo or in a team of three. Players start with a basic weapon and can loot other more effective ones scattered around the city. As the match progresses, a thick red and destructive fog further restricts the area of confrontation.
Like others battle royale, Bloodhunt has a respawn system. Its normal mode gives players extra life which can be replenished by feeding on the blood of certain mortals. So we stay longer in one game and less time waiting for the next one. It also means less downtime within a game, since an opponent that has just been killed can reappear barely ten seconds later behind our backs to take revenge.
Stay in the shadows
Players have a selection of archetypal characters with unique skills and passive abilities. The game has seven in total at the moment, split across the four clans. For the moment, the balance reigns between them and they allow a real diversity as much in the tactics at our disposal as in the course of the matches in general. Players can also level up their archetypes to unlock different passive bounties. From the start, each game is therefore destined to be different.
In the universe of The Masquerade, vampires hide their existence from mortals. Anyone violating this rule will be subject to a ” bloodhunt a blood hunt, in which all vampires are allowed to hunt and kill the culprit without consequences. This rule is present in Bloodhunt. Ordinary humans are present in the city and players can feed on their blood to heal themselves and gain passive bonuses. They must ensure, however, that no other mortal witnesses it, otherwise their position will be revealed to the adversaries. for a minute.
Bloodhunt may not dethrone Warzone Where Fortnite in the list of the best battle royale, a genre now saturated, but it will certainly attract a community of players interested in its aesthetics and advanced mechanics that hint at a high skill ceiling. In any case, like its competitors, it is free. One more argument to at least try it.
