The film “Coeurs Vaillants” will hit the screens on Wednesday, May 11. Signed Mona Achache, it tells the story of six Jewish children hidden in Chambord (Loir-et-Cher) in the middle of the works of art of the Louvre, while waiting to be able to pass into the free zone.

In 1942, Jewish children are in danger. To save them, they are sent to Chambord (Loir-et-Cher), on the border of the demarcation zone. They hide in the castle, and the majestic forest around. The film Cœurs Vaillants, directed by Mona Achache, shows how children, sometimes terrified, manage to reconnect with carelessness.

“I am always struck by the way children have of saying things and of experiencing absolutely everything, joy, sorrow, terror. The child has this ability to stir up all the emotions without filter, and that, c is really what I wanted to explore with them”, explains Mona Achache. If the film is pure fiction, the scenario is built on the story of a resistance fighter. Curator Rose Valland saved works of art from under the nose of the Germans. She inspired the actress Camille Cottin to build her character. A discreet woman, but stronger than the violence of the Nazis.
